This Week in Symphonic

 Serve the City Norfolk was a great success!  Thanks to all the volunteers who came out and served our city.  You made a difference in people's lives and left a beauty mark wherever you went.  The Sunday night celebration was a blast and we fed over 200 people in Commerce Park downtown.  Let the feeling of this weekend permeate your life and keep on serving your city.

Opportunities: 

the cause.

Park Place Child Life Center (PPCLC) is in need of volunteers.  The Heritage Foundation in Norfolk puts on various week long art camps during the summer. They usually charge a fee to parents who want to send their children but have opened up two spots per week for us to send some of our kids for free. We need volunteers who can pick up and take home two kids for one week (Mon. ­ Fri.)  The camps start at 9am and end at 4pm.  You don¹t stay during the day you just pick the kids up from their house in the morning and bring them back home in the evening.  We get to send two kids each week starting July 6th until Aug. 17th so we need one volunteer for each week.  If you are able to provide the transportation for one of these weeks and contact Josh at parkplaceclc@gmail.com or call 675-8455.

Who is Symphonic?

Symphonic is a group of people committed to being a city within our city, an alternate city where our friends and neighbors can see and experience what it's like to live within the kind of kingdom Jesus told people about; a place of good news concerning the primary issues of life... like sex, money, power, and identity.   We gather once a week to be reminded and encouraged about our calling to live out the values of the alternate city, then we scatter back into the world to be salt and light in the name of Christ. Our goal is to live authentically as followers of Jesus; our desire is that others will see Him, love Him and decide to follow him with us.
